The popular and world-renowned football player Cristiano Ronaldo is entering the NFT and Web 3.0 space with the most popular cryptocurrency exchange Binance. The football player has signed an exclusive multi-year NFT partnership with the crypto exchange Binance with an aim to introduce football fans to the Web 3.0 industry using global NFT campaigns. 

Binance has disclosed that the agreement between the exchange and the football players involves developing a series of NFT collections with Ronaldo. These NFT collections will be available exclusively on the Binance NFT platform, and the first collection will come out later this year.

Changpeng Zhao, the founder and CEO of Binance, expressed his appreciation for Ronaldo’s achievements in sports and mentioned that he has “transcended sport to become an icon in multiple industries.” 

He further added, 

“He has amassed one of the world’s most dedicated fan bases through his authenticity, talent and charity work.”

Zhao also revealed that his team at Binance is excited to create “exclusive engagement opportunities to connect with Ronaldo” for the fans. All the fans who own pieces of the NFT collections will have exciting possibilities and rewards. 

Ronaldo also expressed his excitement about the NFT drop and said the fans would surely enjoy these NFTs. He further added, 

“My relationship with the fans is very important to me, so the idea of bringing unprecedented experiences and access through this NFT platform is something that I wanted to be a part of.”

Ronaldo was also awarded crypto tokens for achievements in the sport in March. He was given JUV tokens which are the official fan token for his current club Juventus F.C, for every senior career goal that he scored. 

While the industry struggles with crypto winter, the founder of Binance stays positive with his experience in handling such bull markets and expertise in the industry.
