Hyundai becomes the First Automaker to enter NFT Market

The metaverse is an amalgam of blockchain technology, AR/VR, artificial intelligence and all the new world technologies. The digital realm offers more opportunity than the physical realm and integrates into the growing demand for exciting and interactive services. Several projects and sectors have integrated themselves into the metaverse and Hyundai is following in pursuit. 

Hyundai Motor, a world-renowned automaker, becomes the first company in the industry to enter the NFT market with its own NFT community. To prepare for this monumental change, the company will be launching a Hyundai NFT official website along with Discord and Twitter channels. This community will offer its users a brand new Hyundai experience in the metaverse by sharing NFTs that depict its mobility solutions. While the Twitter and Discord channels are active, the website will be launched next month. 

By offering these dedicated channels for the Hyundai NFT community, the automaker will develop and manage the asset value of its native NFTs and will provide an active open 24/7 communications channel between the community members and the company. 

What to expect?

Hyundai recently released a short film that introduces the new NFT universe concept titled, ‘Metamobility universe’ that reflects the ‘Metamobility’ concept of the company. In the short film, a ‘Meta Kongz’ gorilla character drives in a classic PONY and participates in a modernly reinterpreted heritage series PONY from Earth to the Moon. This reinterpretation is aimed at showing how mobility solutions have the capacity to transcend time and space. There was also a shooting star-shaped NFT teased at the end of the movie which is expected to be released in May. 

“The Hyundai NFT universe will extend the Hyundai brand experience, especially with MZ generation, in a completely new way, further reinforcing our commitment to innovation in both the real world and in the metaverse,” said Hyundai Motor’s Global Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Customer Experience Division, Thomas Schemer. “We are extremely excited to introduce ‘Metamobility’ through our own NFTs and start this journey with ‘Meta Kongz’.”

This new update is exciting for the NFT community as well as the automaker community as it symbolizes new avenues that will open in the recent future.
