You know the crypto adoption is massive when popular musicians like Jay-Z join hands with crypto influencer and former CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, to open a Bitcoin Academy in New York.
This announcement of the opening of The Bitcoin Academy, financial education for Marcy House residents in Brooklyn, New York, has been taken with enthusiasm as all the classes are completely free for residents and will also provide devices and data plans as required.
The Bitcoin Academy
Jack Dorsey is also the founder of Block Inc, a bitcoin financial services company and Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) is a popular musician, actor, and celebrity. Jack Dorsey and Jay-Z have partnered to fund The Bitcoin Academy to offer financial education and empowerment to the community where Jay-Z grew up.
The program will take place in Brooklyn for Marchy House residents with the aim to provide the community with all the necessary tools to gain financial independence, inclusion, and literacy in the childhood place of Jay-Z.
“Education is where we start. This isn’t just about bitcoin…it’s about long-term thinking, local economies, and self-confidence,” said Dorsey. “Courses are free to all Marcy residents, including kids. And to make it even easier we’re providing devices and data plans for all who need it.”
The classes will begin from June 22 through September 7 for all Marcy residents. These classes will be virtual and offline, and the enrollees can choose to attend twice-weekly in-person classes where dinner will be provided. Moreover, Mifi devices will also be provided to all the attendees, along with a 1-year data plan and smartphone if needed. The academy will also offer Crypto Kids Camp, which will provide programming courses on two Saturdays for Marcy kids aged five to seventeen.
This is an excellent initiative made in collaboration with Shawn Carter Foundation, Black Bitcoin Billionaire, Cash App, and the Crypto Blockchain Plug.
