Tag Heuer, The Swiss Luxury Watchmaker, introduces NFT-Enabled Smartwatch.

The NFT industry is on a boom and is largely unaffected by the bear market that has caused turmoil amongst crypto investors. Every day there are new brands and industries incorporating themselves into the NFT industry. Several luxury brands have also entered the NFT wave, and Tag Heuer is the newest member.

Tag Heuer, the Swiss luxury watchmaker, has joined the NFT way by combining blockchain, watches and NFTs to create a new luxury wearable. Tag Heuer has partnered with the popular NFT community surrounding Bored Ape Yacht Club and Clone-X to develop a smartwatch that displays NFTs and can connect to crypto wallets such as MetaMask and Ledger Live.

The New NFT Wearable

The new NFT wearable has been named Connected Calibre E4 and will display NFTs stored on the paired smartphone. The device can support both static and animated NFT artworks and can accept multiple NFTs from the paired device. Moreover, the NFT artworks can also be resized and placed inside three predesigned templates within the watch.

According to a blog post by Tag talking about the current capabilities of the smartwatch, the brand mentioned.

“Some NFTs are still images, and some are animated GIFs. TAG Heuer’s watch face will support these formats in crisp detail, with animations looping infinitely.”

Moreover, the smartwatch can also connect to the blockchain to verify NFTs owned by the wearer. Tag Heuer describes this feature as follows, “Verified NFTs are displayed in a hexagon with a cloud of particles gravitating around the image.”. This NFT functionality will be available as a free update to all Tag Heuer Calibre E4 owners through the app on Google Play and App Store.

Tag Heuer is continuing its development in the Web 3 space with the help of its in-house developers for blockchain-related projects. Earlier last month, the company also partnered with BitPay to accept digital currencies (BTC) and eleven other tokens as payments.

While NFT watches aren’t a new idea as, Bulgari, Jacob & Co., and other brands have also experimented with this idea. However, this application is sure to excite Tag Heuer lovers.
