The Richest Crypto Billionaires in the World 2022 by Forbes

Forbes, a popular publication, recently released the list of top 19 billionaires who have made a fortune in the digital currency ecosystem. This list includes some of the prominent names in the industry that have been in the limelight for a long time and some names that remain in the shadows. Let’s take a look at some of the richest crypto billionaires in 2022. 

Changpeng Zhao

Changpeng Zhao, the founder of Binance, is the19th richest person in the world and the richest person in the cryptocurrency space. With a total of $65 billion net worth and a 70% stake in Binance, Changpeng also holds a small chunk of the total Bitcoin supply and an undisclosed amount of BNB. 

Sam Bankman-Fried

The 30-years old founder of FTX exchange, Sam Bankman-Fried, is the second richest person in the digital space, with an estimated net worth of $24 Billion. The billionaire owns half of the FTX and has over $7 billion worth of FIT, the native token of the platform. Interestingly, Sam has vowed to give away his entire fortune in his life, following his do-good principle in life. 

Brian Armstrong

The CEO and founder of Coinbase, Brian Armstrong, has an estimated net worth of $6.6 billion and holds a 19% stake in the crypto exchange. With his simplicity and holistic approach, Brian Armstrong has been in the news for his pro-crypto stand. 

Gary Wang

The co-founder and CTO of FTX, Gary Wang, is a press-shy billionaire with an estimated net worth of $5.9 billion. Wang holds a 16% stake in the crypto exchange and over $600 million worth of FTT. Initially a software engineer at Google, Wang chose to stay away from the limelight and operate behind the scenes. 

Chris Larsen

Chris Larsen is the fifth richest person on the list and is the co-founder and executive chairman of Ripple. Chris holds a pro-environment stand in the blockchain industry and is currently fighting a lawsuit for alleged illegal activities.
