‘Lakiro,’ the much-awaited Gujarati movie, has delighted viewers with its trailer launch, and now there is more great news. The movie is set to become the first Gujarati film to venture into the world of NFTs. Long associated with digital art, art collections, and sports memorabilia, Non-Fungible Tokens have recently gained traction as a secure way for creators to own and monetize their work. Lakiro will take this one step further with WowTalkies and use this technology for a regional language film.
Director Dr. Darshan Ashwin Trivedi of Media and Entertainment Management at MICA believes that the success of films in India depends on fandom. In light of this, he has identified a unique opportunity to tokenize key creatives within their world of ‘Lakiro’ and provide fans exclusivity.
The producer, Sneh Shah, is just as optimistic about the introduction of NFTs for their Gujarati film; and firmly believes that this innovation is not only on the cusp of creativity and innovation but will also create more fan engagement via these NFTs.
Lakiro is a vibrant film that follows the story of a young couple and their married life as a rollercoaster of love, emotions, and relationship. The Film is releasing on 6th January 2023.
The project will launch its NFTs on Chennai-based company Fangage Labs’ platform, WowTalkies– a fan engagement platform for movie fans on Web 3.0. Here fans can become SUPER FANS by going deeper with their participation and passion. Communities, studios, and celebrities can also become stakeholders in their fan’s activity zone and help them become super fans. The platform allows fans to engage with different communities and collect customizable collectibles on their journey. Celebrities, production houses, and artists can also offer collectibles, curate content, and form fan communities to assist their fans and accelerate their journey toward super FANDOM.
