In recent news, Sharded layer 1 blockchain Zilliqa recently revealed that as part of its plans for the coming years, it would launch its own extended reality (XR) platform, called “Metapolis,” early next year. This will make Zilliqa the first layer-1 protocol to make this move.
Zilliqa’s ‘Metapolis,’ eager to join the Metaverse, and is envisioned as an “amalgamation of AR and VR” that will use multiple levels of engagement, including NFTs, e-commerce, play-to-earn, virtual avatars, commercial posters, and other techniques. These features will make Metapolis be self-sustaining.
Metapolis to include top-notch features
Metapolis, powered by Zilliqa’s scalable and secure blockchain platform, will allow cities to include theoretically sophisticated and custom-designed domes that can host businesses, artists, concepts, games, e-stores, real estate, or other digital experiences, allowing for a new level of involvement in both the physical and digital worlds.
Giving further insight into the announcement, Dr. Ben Livshits, CEO, Zilliqa, said: “The metaverse isn’t about replacing reality. It is about bettering our relationship with the digital world. Beyond the sharing culture that social media has unleashed, this world looks at reducing the gaps present in our ‘real’ economy — gaps around access to value creation and fair pay. It will add layers of interaction to professional and personal lives — with shared value and incentive-driven models at its heart. Metapolis is building such a world, and we’re very proud of it.”
First of its kind
The soon-to-come Metapolis was created with everyone in mind and includes a variety of user-friendly features for individuals both inside and outside the crypto space, with a special emphasis on straightforward introduction for the latter. Its features to incorporate social media, e-commerce, mobile, and web will create a smooth UX for crypto novices and a creative subscriber adventure for brands seeking a novel approach. Metapolis is the first system of its kind to provide this level of personalization and API integration.
How it will work
Users can get fully customized NFT characters that will portray them in Metapolis once they enter the platform. They will also be able to execute acts such as attending festivals and modeling events, moving between cities and private domes, and exploring regulated and public exhibitions and showrooms to purchase and trade digital assets using their avatar as their digital identity.
Zilliqa to support newcomers
Zilliqa has indicated an interest in helping newbies understand the booming Metaverse. According to the Head of Metaverse and NFT, Zilliqa, Sandra Helou, Zilliqa is leading the journey of helping newcomers understand and get value from the Metaverse. She said, “Diversification, innovation and the use of digital assets are all part of Web 3.0. If you add to that an ‘always-on’ layer of engagement to make it borderless and accessible, you start to see the fabric of the Metaverse being woven together. Now is the time to unlock these new layers of engagement for your customers and followers. If you haven’t already ventured into NFTs and the Metaverse, we can help you understand what that marketing strategy could look like and how it can bring value. As we lead the charge on the creator economy, Zilliqa is well equipped to support you — from conceptualisation to execution.”
Old Zilliqa partners have already begun the trip to Metapolis, and the platform has welcomed new users to join the adventure.
